On Dec 1, 1955, Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat to another passenger - a white man. This sparked a protest beginning on Dec 5 that same year, that ultimately led to a court ruling that demanded equal treatment for bus passengers regardless of race, just one of many small victories over the decades and centuries, still ongoing... which I hope will someday result in not just equal treatment for all, but in the absence of even percieving any difference between us. Here is a photograph of a memorial on one of Milwaukee's buses that ran this past week, in memoriam of that act and and for equality.
