Continuing with the pen theme, amongst various other items that I was contracted to clear from a storage room from one of my commercial clients a little while back, were also some similar pens. The logo was fine and I was surprised to see a large box full (and I mean large). I checked with the facilities manager to make sure there wasn't a mistake with these and he said 'Try them'. So I did. Typically, you scribble with a pen to check it works, and the first one did. So I tried some more. Quickly I discovered they write for a few seconds then run out of ink. It seems the overseas supplier sent a few samples full but after getting the order, thought about saving some money by hardly filling the pens with ink. By the time they were paid for and delivered and the client found out, the overseas company was not returning calls/emails. There were 10,000 of these, supposed to have been sent out by my client to various clients of their own as promotional gifts. They couldn't, of course, when the pens would prove unusable. I didn't dump them but use them myself and go through 20 or 30 a week, lol.
